Yes, gun owners can obtain a license to carry a gun in Texas, but it is not required. With a Texas LTC, you can transport in 37 states in total, making travel easier.
Without a Texas license to carry, you will lose 22 of these states. It will be limited only to other states of non-permit transportation that allow non-residents to carry without a license. I still recommend getting a concealed carry license that allows you to carry concealed in many other states. Texas is a constitutional permitless or transportation state, which means that as long as you meet the following requirements, you can carry a concealed or open gun in a holster without needing a Texas concealed weapon license.
