The LTC Austin Texas License to Carry (LTC) online class approved by the Texas DPS provides the Texas Department of Public Safety's mandatory classroom training to obtain your Texas LTC, formerly known as the Texas Concealed Weapons License (CHL).
Demonstration of proficiency is the next step to earning your LTC after completing the online class. Upon completion of the class, the LTC-101 Certificate of Completion will be immediately available for download. Once the class is finished, your certificate of completion, or LTC-101, will be immediately available for download. There are certain public places where firearms are not allowed, even under constitutional carrying, unless you are a licensed police officer.
An applicant can attend LTC classroom training and demonstrate handgun proficiency (shooting) with a qualified LTC instructor from Texas, or. The Texas license to carry a handgun, or commonly known as a concealed weapon license and concealed carry permit, does not disappear with the approval of permissionless carrying in Texas and it is beneficial to have it if you plan to carry a handgun. An applicant can receive LTC online training (classroom only) through an approved online course provider that has been approved in Texas.
Managed through videos divided into 15 to 20 minute segments, you can take the LTC class online at your own pace and in your own home from anywhere in Texas. If you are not an approved online course provider through the State of Texas, you will not receive a Texas transportation license. Under the new law, (expected to take effect in September 2002) Texans would no longer need that license to carry a gun. Handguns were the only type of firearm that required a state license to carry them in most public places in Texas.
